Writing a W2C request that gets a usable LitBuy link back, and searching by image yourself

Last updated .

Short answer: W2C stands for "where to cop": a request asking the community for the shop link of an item seen in a photo. A good one has a clear photo, your size in cm, a budget in yuan and the weight class, and answers come back as Taobao, Weidian or 1688 links you open in LitBuy. A €50 landed cap for a 0.70 kg item means about ¥123 for the item itself.

What a W2C request is and where the word comes from

W2C is short for "where to cop". A buyer sees an item in a photo or video, does not know which shop sells it, and asks others for the link. The answer is a shop page on Taobao, Weidian or 1688 that you can open in LitBuy. Searches for "litbuy w2c" most likely come from people at this point: they have a picture, not a row. Communities run W2C threads, including the official LitBuy server (see the Discord page) and r/LitBuy_Community on the Reddit page. A W2C is a lead, so apply the nine-check row guide to whatever you get back.

W2C finds the shop; it does not prove the item is right.

What a good request contains

Helpers answer quickly when the request is easy to act on. A single sharp photo beats a collage. A size in centimetres beats a letter. A budget stops replies that are twice your price. The table lists the five parts and what each one saves.

Turning a euro cap into a yuan budget

Many buyers think in euros but sellers price in yuan. Work backwards from the total you will accept. Subtract the shipping share, then divide by the ¥1 ≈ €0.158 rate that LitBuy itself displayed on 27 October 2026. The example uses a hypothetical €50 cap on a jeans-type item, weighing an estimated 0.70 kg and travelling alone to Germany.

Worked example: a €50 landed cap for one 0.70 kg item

Cap for the whole order€50.00

Less shipping, 1,000 g band on LIT-Economy-DHL-DE, all-in€30.42

Left for the item: €19.58 ÷ 0.158¥123

Check: ¥123 × 0.158 + €30.42€49.85

Posting "up to ¥123" is far more useful than "cheap". If your parcel will hold other items, the shipping share falls; the landed price calculator models that, and the combine-parcels guide explains why.

Ask in yuan, because that is the currency the answers come in.

You do not have to wait for a reply. The Taobao and 1688 apps, like most large shopping apps, have a camera icon in the search bar that matches a photo against listings. Upload your picture and read the first rows. The title often means little, so compare the photo, the price and the number of styles. Open two or three near matches; an item sold by several sellers shows different prices and different materials. Save the item ID of each, then build the LitBuy link as in the link converter. If your top match is delisted, the find-similar guide picks up from there.

Try image search first; post a W2C when it fails.

A request you can paste

Try this wording and change the details: "W2C for a boxy heavyweight tee in grey, photo attached. Chest 104 cm, length 70 cm, budget up to ¥100, shipping to Germany. One item, no logos." Naming the cut instead of a logo keeps the answers about the style you want.

Short, specific posts beat long stories.

How answers come back and what to do with them

Replies arrive as links, sometimes with a price. Do not click for the sake of it. Open each in LitBuy, check the page loads, compare price, styles, size chart and photo count, and keep two alternatives. A link may carry an inviteCode= or ref= tail; ignore it. Be cautious with anyone who moves you to a private message; a reply should be a link, not a payment request. For a second opinion on a row, the WhatsApp QR on the contact page reaches us; the answer is one quote with delivery included, with pictures before dispatch and payment per order. To compare seller versions of the same item, use the best-quality page.

Treat every reply as a candidate, then run the checks.

FAQ

What does W2C mean on a LitBuy spreadsheet or in a community?

W2C is short for "where to cop", meaning where to get something. A buyer posts a photo of an item and asks for the shop link. Replies are usually Taobao, Weidian or 1688 links, which you open on LitBuy's product page. The answer is a lead, not a verified product, so it needs the same row check as any sheet link.

How do I make a W2C request people actually answer?

Post one clear photo, add the size you wear in cm, a yuan budget, and what you plan to do with it. Vague posts like "anyone know this?" sit unanswered. Give the weight class too, since a coat and a tee ship differently. Keep it to one item per post so replies stay comparable.

Can I find the item myself with an image search?

Often yes. The Taobao and 1688 apps have a camera or image-search button in their search bar, which matches a photo against listings. Results include near-identical items from different sellers, so use the photo, not the title. Take the item ID from the best match, then rebuild it as a LitBuy link with the platform code.

How do I turn a Chinese shop link from a W2C reply into a LitBuy link?

Find the item ID in the URL: after id= for Taobao, itemID= for Weidian, offer/ for 1688. Then build litbuy.com/product/code/item-id, using the code 1 (Taobao), 2 (Weidian) or 0 (1688). We opened six Weidian links built this way on 27 October 2026 and all six showed live prices, so the pattern is reliable for rows that are still listed.

Is it safe to send money or take a private message from a W2C helper?

No. Replies should be links, not payment requests. LitBuy's order process runs through its own site where you pay per order, so a helper never needs your money or login. Treat any private message offering a code or an off-site deal as unrelated to LitBuy and ignore it. Keep the conversation public and verify every link yourself.

What if nobody replies to my W2C?

Search by image first, then try the store's other listings and a second photo of the item. If the product is a plain style such as a boxy tee or flared jeans, browse the matching category in a sheet instead, because many rows already match the look. A request can also sit unanswered when the item has been delisted and no seller offers it.
