Chains, rings and bracelets from LitBuy sheets: material words, ring sizes in mm and delivered prices

Last updated .

Short answer: Jewelry listings use three material words that matter: stainless steel (不锈钢) is solid metal throughout, plated (镀) is a thin coating over a base metal, and sterling silver is marked 925. We estimate 0.10 kg per piece, so three pieces fit one 500 g band. A hypothetical ¥35 chain alone costs about €28.61 delivered to Germany, calculated on 27 October 2026.

Stainless steel, plated or sterling silver: the three listing words

Most jewelry rows on a LitBuy spreadsheet fall into three material groups, and the Chinese word in the title tells you which. Stainless steel (不锈钢, sometimes 钛钢 for "titanium steel") is the same metal all the way through. Plated pieces (镀金 gold, 镀银 silver, 电镀 electroplated) are a base metal with a thin coating, often brass or alloy (合金). Sterling silver appears as 925银, 纯银 or S925, and is an alloy that is 92.5% silver.

The difference shows in price and in wear. A plated chain can look right in the photo and wear through at the clasp, where skin and clothing rub most. A solid steel chain keeps its colour but may feel heavier. Sterling silver tarnishes in air and needs cleaning. The words alone are claims: LitBuy says on its product pages that it provides search, purchasing and forwarding and cannot verify quality or authenticity.

Look for rows that give weight in grams. A chain listed at "12 g" tells you more than "thick chain", because heavier solid pieces cost more to make, and a very light, very cheap "silver" row is a signal to read the listing again.

Read the material word first, then ask whether the price makes sense for that metal.

Ring sizes in mm: from a listing to your finger

Chinese ring listings mix several systems: Hong Kong numbers, US sizes, and inner diameter in mm. German sizes (Ringgröße) follow the inner circumference in mm, so inner diameter × 3.14 gives the size directly. The table uses our own arithmetic, computed with python, and is a guide, not a certificate.

Inner diameter in mm and the matching inner circumference
Inner diameter (mm)Circumference (mm)Nearest German size
16.551.852
17.053.453
17.354.354
17.855.956
18.257.257
18.959.459

To measure at home, wrap a strip of paper around the finger at the base, mark the overlap, and measure the length in mm. Fingers swell in heat, so measure in the evening and add nothing until you have checked the next size up in the listing. Wide bands fit tighter than thin ones, so take a half-step up for a band wider than about 6 mm. Ring rows usually list sizes as "styles", and a row without your size is simply out.

The size converter handles clothing; the Chinese size chart guide explains why every system needs a measurement behind it.

Get the mm figure from the listing and compare it with a ring you already own.

Seven jewelry types by weight and euro total

The grid above shows rows from the 10,000+ product catalogue behind this site. In the table, prices are hypothetical and converted at LitBuy's display rate of ¥1 ≈ €0.158 (27 October 2026), which is higher than typical bank rates. Every piece uses our estimated 0.10 kg, so each ships in the 500 g band at €23.08 all-in to Germany on LIT-Economy-DHL-DE.

Jewelry types: example price, estimated weight and total alone to Germany

Postage is about €23 whatever the piece, so the item price should be the part you think about.

One chain alone, or three pieces together

Chain ¥35, pendant ¥28, bracelet ¥50, Germany

Chain alone: ¥35 × 0.158 = €5.53 + €23.08€28.61

Pendant alone: ¥28 × 0.158 = €4.42 + €23.08€27.50

Bracelet alone: ¥50 × 0.158 = €7.90 + €23.08€30.98

Three separate parcels€87.09

Together: ¥113 × 0.158 = €17.85 + €23.08 (est. 0.3 kg, 500 g band)€40.93

Saved by one parcel€46.16

That works out to €13.64 per piece. For the same 500 g band LitBuy's estimator showed £11.06 on FF-Royalmail-GB-1 for the UK and $25.55 on ZF-GOFO-US-1 for the US on 27 October 2026, both without a tariff prepayment. Check your own rows in the landed price calculator.

Three pieces in one parcel cost less than half of three single orders.

QC photos for chains, rings and earrings

LitBuy's routine photos are generally three to six, with extra photos at ¥1 each. Jewelry is small, so the standard front-and-back shots can hide the clasp and the stamp. Order one extra for each of these.

  1. Clasp and jump rings. Look for gaps in the rings and a clasp that closes flush.
  2. The stamp. A close-up shows whether a 925 or steel mark exists and is legible.
  3. Colour in daylight. Plating and gold tones shift under warehouse light, and LitBuy does not cover colour difference.
  4. Length against a ruler. Chains are listed in cm; check the photo against the listing.

The clasp and the stamp are the two extra photos worth paying for.

Pairing rows and a note for Germany

Jewelry rows ride well in the spare gap of a clothing parcel; see combine parcels for how weight bands work, and watches and accessories for pieces in the same band. Rows come mostly from creator pages; the TikTok sources page describes how those are built.

German buyers search "Schmuck", "Kette" and "Ring Größe". For the Germany line list and import rules, see the Germany page. No LitBuy account? Send the row to us via the WhatsApp QR on the contact page: one delivered price, photos before dispatch, pay per order.

Add jewelry to a parcel that already exists; the second and third piece are nearly free to ship.

Jewelry questions before you order

What does 925 mean on a LitBuy jewelry listing?

925 means sterling silver, an alloy of 92.5% silver. In Chinese listings it appears as 925银 or S925. It is the seller's claim, and LitBuy says it cannot verify quality or authenticity, so the mark alone proves little. A listing that shows a stamp close-up and gives the weight in grams is more useful than one that only says 925.

Is stainless steel jewelry safe for skin?

Solid stainless steel does not wear off, which is why it is popular for chains and rings. Reactions vary by person, and Chinese listings rarely state nickel content. If your skin reacts to some metals, skip rows that do not name the steel grade or say nothing on allergies, and ask the seller before ordering.

How do I convert a ring size from a Chinese listing to a German size?

German ring size (Ringgröße) is the inner circumference in mm. If the listing gives inner diameter, multiply by 3.14: 17.0 mm becomes 53.4 mm, close to size 53. Chinese listings may also use Hong Kong or US numbers, which do not map one to one, so measure an existing ring and compare mm.

How much does one piece of jewelry weigh for shipping?

We plan with an estimated 0.10 kg per piece, a planning assumption, not a weighing. That puts up to five pieces within 500 g, where LitBuy's all-in estimator price to Germany was €23.08 on 27 October 2026. Heavier solid-metal pieces may weigh more, so the warehouse weight is what decides the final charge.

Does plated jewelry fade, and can I check that before it ships?

Plating wears with contact, sweat and water, and no photo can show how long it lasts. Before dispatch you can see colour, finish and visible damage in the QC photos, with extra photos at ¥1 each. Pick rows that name the base metal and the plating thickness if the seller gives one.

Is jewelry affected by customs more than clothing?

It is treated like other goods, with import VAT in the EU from the first euro. On LitBuy's EU tax-free lines the tariff prepayment was ¥40 per parcel on 27 October 2026. Low weight does not lower that parcel charge, which is why several pieces in one parcel cost less per piece than single orders.
