How to judge a hoodie row by GSM, terry or fleece before you price the parcel

Last updated .

Short answer: A hoodie from a LitBuy sheet is estimated at 0.75 kg, so it sits in the 1 kg price step: a hypothetical ¥180 hoodie landed in Germany at €58.86 on LIT-Economy-DHL-DE using the 27 Oct 2026 estimator. Read the GSM figure on the listing, check whether the inside is French terry or fleece in a photo, and keep add-ons under 250 g.

GSM first: what the number on a hoodie listing means

GSM is grams per square metre of fabric, and Chinese listings write it as 克重, often as "380g" or "400克". It is the best single clue to how a hoodie feels and weighs. As a rule of thumb: under 300 is light, 300 to 400 is a mid-weight everyday hoodie, and 400 and above is called heavyweight. A seller who gives no GSM is telling you to ask in the chat or look at the weight in the QC photos.

The arithmetic is simple. If a hoodie used about 2 m² of fabric (our assumption for a medium, not a measurement), then 280 GSM comes to about 560 g, 350 GSM to 700 g, 420 GSM to 840 g and 480 GSM to 960 g. Hood lining, ribbing and a kangaroo pocket push the real figure up. Our planning weight for hoodies and knits is 0.75 kg, an estimate, so a 480 GSM hoodie is the case where the plan runs short.

Use GSM to rank rows; use 0.75 kg only as a planning figure, not a promise.

French terry or fleece: the two interiors

French terry has small loops on the inside and a smooth outside. It breathes, drapes well and suits spring to autumn. Fleece (加绒 in listings) has a brushed, fuzzy inside that traps heat, which suits a German or UK winter but also adds bulk and weight. A third word, 毛圈, means looped terry, and 卫衣 is the general word for a sweatshirt. If a row is called 加厚 (thickened), expect more GSM and more weight.

Photos show the difference faster than text. Ask for a shot of the inside of the hem or hood: loops mean terry, fuzz means fleece. In German a hoodie is a Kapuzenpullover; the terry-or-fleece split is worth checking on every row.

Choose terry for layering and fleece for warmth, and check the inside in a photo.

Six hoodie types you will meet in sheets

Hoodie and sweatshirt types, example prices and what to check

Fleece-lined pullover¥150 (≈ €23.70)0.75 kgLining colour and pilling

Crewneck knit sweater¥130 (≈ €20.54)0.75 kgYarn blend and neck rib

Example prices are our own round numbers for the maths. Euro figures use LitBuy's displayed rate of ¥1 ≈ €0.158 (27 Oct 2026), which sits above common bank rates, so the checkout total in your own currency decides. The photos in the grid above come from the 10,000+ product catalogue behind this site.

Different types carry the same planning weight, so GSM is the tie-breaker.

One hoodie, two hoodies, or a hoodie with a tee

Method: CNY price × 0.158 plus LitBuy's all-in LIT-Economy-DHL-DE price for the step that fits the estimated weight, read from the estimator on 27 Oct 2026. For the full fee split see the landed price calculator.

A ¥180 hoodie to Germany, alone and in company

Hoodie: ¥180 × 0.158€28.44

Shipping, est. 0.75 kg (1 kg step)€30.42

One hoodie alone€58.86

Two hoodies: 2 × €28.44€56.88

Shipping, est. 1.50 kg (2 kg step)€45.09

Two hoodies landed, about €51 each€101.97

Hoodie + ¥60 tee: €28.44 + €9.48€37.92

Shipping, est. 1.00 kg (1 kg step)€30.42

Hoodie and tee landed€68.34

A hoodie with a tee lands exactly on the 1 kg edge on our estimates, which leaves no slack. If a 480 GSM hoodie turns out near 0.96 kg and the tee is 0.25 kg, the parcel moves to the 2 kg step and the same two items cost €83.01. A rehearsal parcel (¥20 plus materials) shows the real packed weight before you pay for shipping. UK: 1 kg £16.83, 1.5 kg falls in the £28.38 step. US: $41.17 and $72.41 on ZF-GOFO-US-1.

A hoodie plus a tee sits on the 1 kg line; any extra weight costs a full step.

QC photo checks for a hoodie

LitBuy's routine set is generally three to six photos, and each extra costs ¥1, about €0.16. For hoodies, request these:

  • Inside of the hood and hem, to confirm terry or fleece.
  • Chest flat with a tape across it, then body length from collar seam to hem.
  • Cuff and waist rib stretched slightly, to see whether it springs back.
  • Print or embroidery up close, with the light at an angle.

The QC photos guide sets out how to read a set, and the QC finder lists where pre-purchase photos come from. The ¥7 video is footwear only, so a hoodie needs stills.

Terry or fleece, and chest width, are the two things a photo settles.

Pairing a hoodie with lighter rows

Because a hoodie uses most of the 1 kg step, the best companions are under 250 g: a tee, a cap or socks. See light add-ons and the parcel logic in combine parcels. Bottoms such as pants and cargos push the parcel to the 2 kg step, where two items fit comfortably. No LitBuy account? Send the row to us via the WhatsApp QR on the contact page: one delivered price, photos before dispatch, pay per order.

Keep add-ons under 250 g or plan for the 2 kg step.

Where hoodie rows turn up

Hoodie rows can be found on TikTok creator sheets and in sheet directories. Always re-open the item on its LitBuy product page, since a delisted row shows "The product has been removed from the shelves."

Open the row on LitBuy's page first, then trust the sheet's note.

Hoodie questions

What does 克重 mean on a hoodie listing?

克重 means weight per area, which is GSM, grams per square metre of fabric. A listing that says 380g or 400克 is describing the fabric, not the whole hoodie. As a rule of thumb, higher figures mean thicker cloth: under 300 is light, 300 to 400 mid-weight, above 400 heavyweight. If the field is missing, ask the seller or pre-pack the item to see its packed weight.

Is French terry or fleece better for winter in Germany?

Fleece (加绒) is warmer because the brushed inside traps air, so it suits a German or UK winter on its own. French terry is smoother and better for layering under a coat. Terry has small loops on the inside, fleece has fuzz, and a photo of the hem or hood lining shows which you are getting before the parcel ships.

How heavy is a 420 GSM hoodie?

If it used about 2 m² of fabric, which is our assumption for a medium, the fabric alone comes to about 840 g, and ribbing, a lined hood and pockets add more. That sits above our 0.75 kg planning figure for hoodies, so plan a 420 GSM row at the top of the 1 kg step and check whether the packed parcel tips into the 2 kg step.

Do two hoodies cost double to ship?

Not quite. Two hypothetical ¥180 hoodies came to €101.97 landed in Germany on LIT-Economy-DHL-DE, about €51 each, against €58.86 for one alone. The second item moves the parcel from the 1 kg step (€30.42) to the 2 kg step (€45.09), so its extra shipping is €14.67, not the full €30.42. Estimated weights, 27 Oct 2026.

Which QC photos should I request for a hoodie?

Ask for the inside of the hood or hem to confirm terry or fleece, the chest laid flat with a tape across it, the cuff and waist rib slightly stretched, and a close shot of any print. Extra photos cost ¥1 each, about €0.16 at LitBuy's displayed rate, and LitBuy does not cover colour difference, so compare colour against the seller's photos yourself.

Can a hoodie and a tee ship in the 1 kg step?

On our estimates, yes, but only just. A hoodie at 0.75 kg and a tee at 0.25 kg add up to exactly 1.00 kg, so a heavier hoodie pushes the parcel to the next step, where Germany jumps from €30.42 to €45.09. A hypothetical ¥180 hoodie and ¥60 tee landed at €68.34 inside the step.
